Introduction of a Battery Performance Characteristic Map Based on the Internal Impedance on Cell and System Level

The accurate determination of the condition of a lithium-ion battery is a key challenge. Since lithium-ion batteries are complex electrochemical systems, state evaluation and interpretation are difficult. This paper presents a novel performance characteristic map based on the data of the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The data of this non-destructive measurement method is analyzed over different states of charge to ensure a reliable interpretation over time and to highlight the benefits of the detailed investigation of the battery state.
