A LDO-Based Distributed Power Management System for High Voltage CMOS Sensors

The paper presents a prototype of a high-voltage Monolithic Active Pixel Sensor (MAPS) developed in a 110 nm commercial CMOS technology, with focus on the power management circuitry. The described architecture is modular and the power management system, based on an array of 16 Low Drop-Out regulators (LDO), has been designed envisaging future developments of sensors with area beyond the reticle size. Each LDO is capable of providing a maximum current of 10 mA with a line regulation of 1.8 mV per mA and a PSRR of -40db.
