Bird repelling scheme design of orchard bird repelling robot based on YOLOv5

Fruits are easily pecked by too many birds during the harvest season, resulting in lower fruit quality and lower effective yield. In order to alleviate the heavy bird-repelling work of farmers during the harvest season, an intelligent orchard bird-repelling robot was innovatively designed. Express the desire for the birds to leave the fruit and stop pecking by spraying water mist on the birds pecking at the tree or near the fruit. Bird repelling robots are equipped with various sensors to sense the external environment. The upper computer processes the information of various sensors, and controls the lower computer to control each actuator to complete the bird repelling operation. The robot can build a map of the orchard, and operate according to the planned route through its own positioning and real-time obstacle avoidance. The key bird repelling areas are determined by a recurrent neural network algorithm. Use the object detection algorithm YOLOv5 to identify and label various things in the work area. The target is determined by calculating whether the distance between the bird and the fruit in the image is below a threshold. Adjust the posture of the spout through the image information, and aim at the bird to spray a fine water mist. Effectively ensure the quality and effective yield of orchard fruit.
