Coverage impact of reconfigurable intelligent surfaces in 6G mobile networks

It is expected that one of the main technologies for accelerating data transmission in the sixth generation of mobile communications (6G) might be the use of reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS). RIS have been proposed to intelligently manage wireless channels to improve wireless performance. With the help of special software, an analytical model of the work of a RIS with a size of one meter is created, demonstrating a higher coverage level when using it, compared to common static surfaces (e.g. concrete, dirt, and snow).
