iDispensing: A Deep Learning-Based Dispensing Medicine Recognition System

This paper proposes a deep learning-based dispensing medicine recognition system, designated as iDispensing. iDispensing comprises a barcode reader, a camera module, an Edge-AI computing module, and a display module. Furthermore, iDispensing uses deep learning image classification technology to recognize whether or not the prescription bag fills the correct prescribed medicine to avoid dispensing errors. The experimental results show that the accuracy of iDispensing has reached up to 96%, which can achieve the purpose of correct medication dispensing.
