A Color 3D Scanner Based on Jetson TK1 Embedded System

In order to enable the human beings easily enjoy the conveniences of color three dimensional (3D) scanners with affordable prices, a new family of color color 3D scanners based on Jet-son TK1 embedded system is proposed and implemented in this paper. The proposed color 3D scanner mainly consists of some accessible components and devices, such as a webcam, a line laser, light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and a stepper motor, etc., and is driven and controlled by using the software libraries provided by C++ and OpenCV. Moreover, the PLY file format which can support for 3D editing software in general, is also available to further apply some additional image processing functions after the 3D scanning process.
