Precise timing boost PFC converter adaptive digital control using Azure RTOS

This paper presents the classic boost PFC converter adaptive PI control method to efficiently control the circuit behavior in steady-state and transient conditions. So, the runtime PI values are changed by the Microcontroller (MCU), to provide a higher phase margin in a Steady-State (SS) and larger bandwidth during a Transition-State (TS). Also, the advanced Microsoft Azure Real-Time-Operating-System (RTOS) digital control Implementation was proposed on the STM32 MCU target to preserve close-loop precise timing. The 400-V boost PFC converter with a 220-Vrms input voltage consider the reference for design and implementation investigation. This controller reacts 35-ms and 15-ms to the 8.75% and 25% change in the load, respectively, based on the adaptive PI control method in the runtime Processor-In-Loop (PIL) configuration. Then MCU implementation's precise timing reports after integrating the controller as the thread in Azure RTOS.
