Design optimization of 12 Core Er3+/Yb3+ co-doped amplifier and its experimental validation

A classical rate-equations model has been applied for a co-doped 12 cores ${\mathrm Er}^{3+}/{\mathrm Yb}^{3+}$ cladding-pump amplifier design. Optimized parameters such as active fiber length, pump power or ions concentration are proposed. Simulations and experiments are compared.
