Muxtender: A Fan-out and Reach-extending Device for Rapid and Low-cost 10G-PON Deployment

We present a fan-out and reach-extending device, the Muxtender, to effectively increase XGS-PON split ratio by $4\times(8\times$), and reduce OLT per-port cost by ~53% (~69%). The Muxtender can significantly reduce CAPEX and OPEX for 10G-PON rollout.
