Abstract:

IoT connects billions of devices with each other in the smart world. In order to exchange very large amount of information amongst billions of devices massive energy is required. Green IoT is inspired by reducing the energy consumption of IoT devices achieving a sustainable IoT environment. The UAE government wants to ensure a highly sustainable development also preserving the environment, and achieve a perfect balance between social and economic development. In order to do this the UAE Vision 2021 tells that the main agenda is to focus on improving the quality of air, preserving water resources, increasing the contribution of clean energy and implementing green growth plans [14]. In this research paper, an overview of Green IoT is discussed, followed by the statistical analysis of IoT and sustainability in the U.A.E., Green IoT technologies and the challenges faced.
