Multi Peak Detection Algorithm of Fiber Bragg Grating using Mexican Hat Wavelets and Hilbert Transform

A method of peak detection based on Hilbert transform and peak localized wavelet’s function is proposed in this paper. The proposed algorithm is able to sort out the problem overcome in traditional peak detection of a single FBG. In this algorithm, the Mexican hat wavelet’s function is used to localized the known peak, and the Hilbert transform concept is used to find zero crossing point. The zero-crossing of FBG and wavelet’s function is calculated and equating with zero to find the alignment of the peak of both signals. So that, the peak wavelength can be found easily. The theoretical experimental and simulation result shows the enhancement of the speed and accuracy of peak detection of single FBG as well as multi FBG.
