Application of Optimization Techniques for Temperature Control of Surface Condenser

This work presents a nature-inspired stochastic algorithm called Multi-Verse Optimizer (MVO), used to control the temperature of the surface condenser by tuning the PID controller. To justify the efficacy of the suggested optimization technique, it is compared with the conventional Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Zeigler-Nichols (Z-N) tuning methods. The performance test is done based on overshoot, settling and rising time and also with the standard error criteria. Plant data is utilized to perform mathematical models of the system. Simulations are done using MATLAB/Simulink software. A simulation result shows that the proposed algorithm provides better steady and transient state performance and overcomes the shortcomings of other methods.
