A Broadband LMS-based Band-split Crosstalk Cancellation Method for Ultrasound Systems

This paper presents an LMS-based crosstalk cancellation method for inter-channel crosstalk in multichannel ultrasound systems, including transducer and analog front end (AFE). Furthermore, for the broadband ultrasound signal, an additional method of band-split filtering is proposed, with which the noise residual can be reduced to 1.47%. In addition, it is discussed whether the analog-to-digital conversions with different accuracies will have an impact on the calibration results. The algorithm is verified in a testbench which has a narrowband signal with 1.8MHz bandwidth and a broadband signal with 10MHz bandwidth. The result shows that 88.9% of the crosstalk noise in narrowband and 98.53% of the crosstalk noise in broadband are eliminated. Also, the comparison of imaging results before and after crosstalk elimination is presented in this paper, which can clearly show the optimization in imaging results.
