A fully automated halogen lock-in thermography test procedure to verify the alignment of CFRP wing spars

In this work a fully automated thermography test procedure is presented. The procedure was validated by the application of a halogen lock-in thermographic test to verify the core alignment in Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) wing spar. The novelty of the work lies in the integrated testing system and in the fully automated test procedure, guided by the interface of a software developed for: the management of the control unit, the management of the thermal sensor, the processing, postprocessing and interpretation of the data.
