Design of Fuzzy Logic Control Based on SEPIC Converter for MPPT on Wind Turbine

Wind energy is one of the renewable energies being developed in Indonesia. The conversion of wind energy into electrical energy can be done through wind turbines. The wind turbine system requires a control method for maximum power point tracking (MPPT) through a converter. Fuzzy logic control (FLC) is used as the MPPT algorithm because the construction is simpler and more efficient than other methods. The SEPIC converter has the advantage of not reversing the polarity. This study aims to design FLC based on SEPIC converter for MPPT on wind turbines. The control method used is FLC with variations in the type and number of inputs so that there are 3 types of MPPT-FLC methods. Method 1 uses wind speed, method 2 uses changes in input power and changes in input voltage and method 3 uses wind speed and input voltage as input while duty cycle as output for all methods. The MPPT-FLC method 2 was able to produce a maximum output power of 275.22 with an increase of up to 83.78 percent as a result.
