Effect of Grounding Rods Position and Fly Ash Material on Grounding Resistance in Limestone Soil

This research was conducted using rod electrodes that were installed in 2 positions, namely Vertical and Horizontal using the Three Point Method of grounding which were arranged with different depth variations. The deepest measurement results obtained in the vertical position with a depth of 2 meters is 15.04 Ohms while in the Horizontal position with a depth of 1 meter it is 24.54 Ohms. The measurement results obtained will be compared with the results of the calculations that have been carried out. Because the measurement results are still far from the PUIL 2000 standard limit, this study also carried out treatment to the ground using fly ash to determine the decrease in ground resistance after fly ash was installed or before fly ash was installed. During 8 weeks of measurement using an earth resistance tester, it was found that fly ash was able to reduce the grounding value by 10 Ohms. The condition of the electrodes after configuration for 8 weeks with fly ash was in good condition and there was no corrosion on the electrodes even though it had rained at the research site.
