The Use of Polarization Modulation to Increase the Secrecy of Radio Systems

The introduction of means and methods of polarization processing in radar systems raised the question of measures to protect them from electronic detection systems. One of the ways of protection is to ensure the secrecy of radar stations. Energy secrecy can be provided by passive methods, the essence of which is to reduce the visibility of its own radiation. In situations where this is not enough, active methods are used. They are implemented by setting up active masking interference. In this article, a variant of protection of systems using signals with modulation of the polarization orientation plane is proposed. The method of zero formation by polarization for interference is taken as a basis. An option of masking interference, a method of its formation and processing is proposed. Its feasibility is confirmed by the results of mathematical modeling. The method allows providing time, frequency and polarization masking of the signal.
