Development and Analysis of Ultrasound Registrating and Performing Rodent Vocalization Device

The paper describes a device that allows transferring the oscillation frequencies in the 30-50 kHz range to the audible range and back. This device was developed to make the real-time recording and watching the rodent vocalizations for next scientific research much easier. Also this device provides the interaction with rodents by performing recorded vocalizations. Such device can be useful for scientists conducting the experiments on the social interaction of rodents with the application of neural network that recognizes the behavioral and emotional message of animal vocalization. Based on conducted review, authors define the main points in technical requirement of the device. After providing the explaining theoretical sentences authors pay attention to the block diagram for the device, which is subsequently presented in the form of a prototype, the characteristics of which are experimentally evaluated. The experiment contains of analysis of the linear and nonlinear signal distortions in the tract of frequency transposition. But it needs to be considered that experimental investigations only contain the transformation and filtration of the electric signals frequency without processes of inputting and outputting the ultrasound fluctuations. The proposed device is considered by the authors useful for conducting natural experiments on experimental animals, taking into account the aspects mentioned in the conclusion related to the error of ultrasound emitters and receivers.
