Dynamic Characteristics of the Minigrid Synchronous Operation with the Electrical Network of a Centralized Electric Power System

The relevance to perform this paper is associated with the connection of a local power supply system based on a low-power generation power plant (Minigrid) for parallel operation with the electric network of a centralized electric power system to ensure the reliability of the power supply to its consumers and the possibility of issuing excess Minigrid power to an external electric grid. The connection is carried out by means of the innovative integrated control automation of Minigrid with the developed and patented method of emergency balanced division introduced into it. The objectives of this paper are to check the operability and efficiency of the Minigrid emergency separation method from the external electrical grid. It is necessary to analyze the mode dynamic characteristics of processes in case of disturbances in the electrical grid, which mainly include short circuits. At the same time, it is proven the possibility of providing safe synchronous operation of small generation power units as part of the Minigrid during parallel operation with an external electrical network. The paper presents the results of a study of the emergency automatics operation, namely, calculations of dynamic stability in parallel operation modes while ensuring the reliability of power supply to consumers and the efficiency of using the generating capacities of the Minigrid. The simulation of the parallel operation modes of a real Minigrid based on fuel synchronous generation with a capacity of about 10 MW and the current scheme of the electric network of the regional energy system of the Unified Electricity System of Russia was performed.
