Transformation Benefits of Boiler Houses to Mini-CHPP in the Russian Federation Regions

The main directions and trends in the development of the world energy sector are increasing environmental friendliness and ensuring resource conservation. Increasing the efficiency of energy production is one of the main processes that ensure resource saving. In order to increase the efficiency of energy production and solve the problem of increasing the share of separate energy production, it will be effective to introduce cogeneration by transforming boiler houses into mini-combined heat and power plants. The aim of the work is to increase the efficiency of production of heat and electricity in the regions of Russia on the example of the Novosibirsk region. The paper proposes criteria for determining the settlements of the region, where the transformation of boiler houses into mini-CHPPs will have the greatest potential. The systemic and local effects resulting from the transformation of boiler houses are determined. Settlements in the Novosibirsk region and boiler houses were selected, where the transformation of boiler houses is relevant, and boiler houses suitable for transformation were identified. A parameter of fuel calorific value is proposed, which reflects the efficiency of processing fuel and energy resources into electrical and heat energy. The resource-saving effect of the transformation of the boiler house with the transfer to a mini-CHP is determined.
