Weight Measurement System Using Plastic Optical Fiber

In the present work, we present the design, implementation, and testing of a weighting sensor that implies the use of plastic optical fiber. The system results were compared head-to-head with an electronic weight sensor. The system results proved the sensitivity of such weighting measuring technique which can offer a great alternative for mediums where electronic weighting systems present a source of the explosion, like the case of inflammable material facilities.
