Performance Analysis of Outdoor Massive MIMO on Ultra-High Frequency Bands (73 GHz and 100 GHz)

6G will go to support a variety of technologies, including fully Artificial Intelligence (AI), Augmented Reality (AR), the Internet of Things (IoT), e-health, smart vehicles, and mobile broadband communication. The terahertz band (0.1-10 THz) communications are essential to assist in making the 6G wireless technology vision conceivable for the next decade. This paper focuses on outdoor performance analysis of massive Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) antennas on ultra-high frequency bands for wireless technology. The simulation was performed with the Matlab-based NYUSIM statistical simulator, which gave us an accurate analysis and measurements at millimeter and terahertz wavebands. For designing our model, we considered a physical model because of cost, suitability for simulation, and low computational complexity. We specially selected Geometry Based Stochastic Model (GBSM) because of its accuracy. We investigated and compared different transmitters and receivers, LOS and NLOS propagation environment with lower and upper bound T-R separation distance at 50 m to 500 m by using two Ultra-high frequencies (73 GHz and 100 GHz) in Urban Micro (UMi) cellular scenario. The result parameters include Omnidirectional Path Loss (PL), directional PL, directional Power Delay Profile (PDP) with the strongest power, Angle of Arrival (AoA), and Angle of Departure (AoD) power spectrum for both LOS and NLOS environment in UMi scenario were compared. The result shows the LOS environment provides a better-received power, while in the NLOS environment, the received power is concentrated many directions. The simulation results will be helpful for the designing and implementation of the next future wireless technology.
