Abstract:

This research carries out a study on digital tourism focused on the creation of QR codes to improve the diversification of tourist offers. It is based on identifying the diversification in the tourist offer by implementing thematic routes in Tungurahua, at the same time promoting the use of technological tools that allow obtaining continuous and instant information about the tourist attractions that are described in the established Thematic Routes. The research compiles the most relevant attractions found in Tungurahua and in this way, promotes the development of an application through QR codes that show information about the place where the tourist is located. The research is experimental - exploratory, based on a parts approach, the instruments used were a questionnaire on the profile of the visitor and the UTAUT Acceptance Model, the same ones that were validated by Cronbach’s Alpha having a result greater than 0.9 that making the instruments highly reliable. The statistic test used to identify related samples is Friedman which allows identifying the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis in the investigation, validating that the QR codes contribute to the diversification of the tourist offer through the self-guidance of the tourist routes in Tungurahua Province. In conclusion, it is determined that digital tourism is the best option for post-pandemic economic reactivation since despite having minimal restrictions, biosecurity protocols must be maintained and even better with the use of QR codes which allow the visitor to use technology for self-guiding.
