A Soft Terminal Design and Development based on SIP Protocol

With the rapid development of Internet technology and network products, the traditional circuit switching technology is being replaced by the packet-switching network based on IP in the telecommunication industry. Furthermore, all kinds of business can be completed on the packet-switching network. As an IP channel and business control system, IMS (IP multimedia subsystem) stands out in the past decades. In this paper, a soft terminal system is built based on SIP (session initialization protocol) protocol, which can realize the voice and video call based on IP network transmission. It adopts C/S mode, which means that it is made up of client and server. The soft terminal system adopts SIP protocol framework, and some other protocol modules are added to ensure the perfect functions. With the help of the packet capture test, the experimental results show that the soft terminal system can complete the SIP control process, correct signaling control, and realize some key terminal functions, such as the registration, authentication, audio call and video call effectively.
