An Adaptive Seawater Index Algorithm on GEE : an adaptive seawater index algorithm map function based on opticial RS on GEE with JavaScript API

Waterbody extraction in remote sensing big data cloud platforms has been a fast, accurate and batch process. There have been many signs of progress in extracting water by indexes worldwide. However, the use of multi-water indexes can be continuously worked to be more adaptive in different sea areas. This paper is based on High-Resolution Optical Imagery Sentinel-2 TOA. Yuhuan, Zhejiang Province, China is selected as the study area where it has both continental and island coastline in all directions to find an efficient way to combine MNDWI, AWEI, and TCW on Sentinel-2 imagery with the Otsu method into an automatic detection way to extract seawater. The result shows the easy of use methodology extracts seawater accurately and can apply to other coastal areas.
