Design of a High Performance PMSM for Electric Vehicles

The design of a high-speed permanent magnet synchronous motor has been discussed in this work with the help of Ansys Maxwell. The study proposes a 110kW radial PMSM with a maximum rotational speed of 13300 rpm. The developed motor can reach a efficiency of over 96 percent thanks to the high speed. Electrical and mechanical design are both challenged by the high speed.
