Design and Analysis of Compact Triple band Microstrip Patch Antenna

This paper presents a Compact Triple band Mi-crostrip patch antenna by using Shorting post and Gap coupled Method for C, X, Ku band application. In this design for feeding Coaxial probe technique is used which is given to central patch only which is made for X band application. Rogers RT6010LM lossy material is used as a substrate with a dielectric constant of 10.7 and having thickness of 1.6 mm. This substrate with high dielectric constant is used to make compact overall size of the proposed antenna. For further reduction of the proposed antenna and to improve the working efficiency of it, Shorting post(shorting bar) method is used. Gap coupled method is analyzed to resonate it at three different frequencies. This compactness and triple band property of the proposed antenna makes it suitable for medical, Radar, Satellite application. The proposed antenna represents triple band(C/X/Ku) triple band antenna that mainly covers 6.3 GHZ for Wireless application STM Link 1 (Synchronous Transport Module Level-1), 9.4 GHz satisfies the application for Radio Detection and Ranging(RADAR) application and 14.3 GHz is applicable for Satellite application. The simulation process has been done using Computer Simulation Technology (CST) Studio Software. For proper impedance matching the outer and inner radius of the probe is taken 0.9mm and 0.3mm Respectively. The properties of antenna such as Return loss, Directivity, Gain etc are determined.
