Present situation of biomass energy utilization-a comparison between China and the United States

Biomass energy, as an important part of renewable energy, has attracted worldwide attention in recent years. Developing biomass economy is conducive to promoting economic growth and rural development, reducing fossil energy consumption and improving ecological environment, with great development potential, but its development still faces many challenges. According to the research, China is rich in biomass energy resources, and technologies such as biomass briquette, large-scale biogas project, power generation and cogeneration are relatively mature, which have shown a good momentum of large-scale development and are the main utilization modes in the future. This paper analyzes the reasons for the rapid development of biomass energy industry in the United States from the aspects of biomass raw materials, policies, incentives, etc. At the same time, it summarizes the current situation and shortcomings of China's biomass energy utilization from the above typical utilization modes of biomass energy.
