Abstract:
Renewable energy sources, used as a sort of Distribution Generations (DGs) technology in Radial Distribution Networks (RDN), improve both electrical energy generation and RDN performance. In this article, the Ant Lion optimizing (ALO) algorithm was used to find the best DG allocation and sizing in a balanced RDN for minimizing total operating cost, power loss and voltage deviation index that improves voltage stability index and voltage profile. Candidate buses for DG installation are identified using the loss sensitivity factor (LSF), while a suitable bus location is selected using the voltage sensitivity factor (VSF). In this study, IEEE 33 bus test system has been used at various load levels under constant power load. To test this technique's superiority and performance, the proposed method's numerical results has been compared with other optimization approaches.
