Inset Fed Slotted Patch Antenna Array for Microwave Imaging Applications

With today's medical advancements, any biomedical system demands a low-cost, low-profile, light-weight antenna for microwave images to identify tumors in various body parts. The design of a two-element inset fed slotted patch antenna array that can operate at 7.3 GHz frequency is presented in this work. The substrate in this case is fr4-epoxy material. The height of the substrate is 1.6 mm and a relative permittivity is 4.3. CST Microwave Studio was used to develop and simulate the proposed inset fed slotted patch antenna array.
