Research on Using Dynamic Thread Pool to Improve the Performance of VPN Gateway

Thread pool is a model of multithreading technology, which allows a single program to create multiple threads executing in parallel to complete their tasks. In order to improve the processing performance of VPN gateway and reduce the response time of concurrent requests, a scheme of adaptively adjusting the size of thread pool based on self-learning algorithm is proposed. Firstly, the processing logic of static thread pool and dynamic thread pool is analyzed; then the advantages and disadvantages of dynamic thread pool based on threshold trigger and self-learning are expounded; then it explains the implementation process of dynamic thread pool based on self-learning algorithm; finally, the steps of verification test for VPN gateway processing performance improvement are given. The test results show that the scheme given in this paper can effectively improve the response speed of VPN gateway to concurrent requests by self-learning and predicting the number of requests, business level and task processing time, and adaptively adjusting the size of thread pool, which has practical application value and demonstration effect.
