Research on Energy Management Method and Simulation of Hybrid Propulsion VTOL UAV

Based on the characteristics analysis of the fuel cell and lithium battery hybrid power supply and the requirements of vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), a hybrid power system applied to VTOL UAV is designed and the state machine energy management strategy is employed. Finally, through the simulation test of vertical take-off and landing conditions, it is verified that under the control of the state machine energy management strategy, the system can meet the power requirements of the VTOL UAV, and can make the fuel cell run in a stable range to ensure its safety and longevity.
