Digital Implementation of P-Q Control in Grid-Tied Inverters for Educational Purposes

This paper presents the development of an educational tool, aiming at the in-depth study of P-Q control concept in grid-tied inverters. The proposed tool is based on the development of the digital control model in MATLAB® Simulink and its conversion into executable code for the TMS320F28379D microcontroller unit. Hence, students are encouraged to enhance their programming and digital control skills, along with the in-depth analysis and comprehension of power electronics systems. Finally, the overall educational tool is experimentally validated through an H-bridge grid-tied inverter.
