Modelling the Dynamic Voltage Distribution in Electric Traction Motor Windings

In this paper, a model for calculating the dynamic voltage distribution in electric traction motor windings under fast switching inverter feed is proposed. An Equivalent Circuit Model (ECM) approach is selected and outlined in detail. Required measurements on prototypes for model parameterization shall be avoided, as prototypes are only available in a late project stage. Hence, Finite Element (FE) models are proposed to calculate the required values of all network elements. The model results are compared with measurements for validation.
