Capten: a service for rolling out EV charging infrastructure while taking into account the capacity of the distribution network

Capten addresses the subject of enabling local authorities and project developers to 1) get access to the capacity of the distribution network and 2) assess the impact and compatibility of connecting several electric vehicles (EV) charging infrastructures. This topic was addressed with the development of a methodology that eases the access to low voltage (LV) network capacities. This methodology allows local authorities to simulate EV charging infrastructure development plans without carrying out any load flow calculations. Thus, providing a smooth user experience while ensuring that all of the infrastructure projects that have been defined based on this methodology can be connected to the existing distribution network simultaneously (i.e. without any reinforcement).
