OPALS, Open Platform Applied to Learning digital control Systems

Automatic control theory has a relevant importance in several engineering areas. Identifying a system's model and designing its controller are fundamental tasks in the control systems learning process. The implementation of digital controllers using difference equations on microprocessors constitutes an effective method to evaluate the behaviour of a feedback system. This article proposes an open hardware/software platform designed to be used in control systems teaching laboratories in the field of engineering degrees.
