Comparative analysis of TIE imaging and off-axis digital holography for evaluation of cell parameters

We report a comparative analysis of phase imaging of cell specimens performed using a transport of intensity equation (TIE) and off-axis digital holography. Optical and morphological parameters of fixed HeLa cells were evaluated from the phase images obtained by these techniques. The accuracy of three TIE solvers under different experimental conditions was estimated by comparison with the data, obtained by holographic microscopy.
