Mode-locking in a YAG:Cr4+ solid-state laser gyroscope

This paper presents a YAG:Cr
⁴
+ solid-state laser gyroscope in which mode locking is used to improve accuracy. Mode locking makes it possible to reduce the competition of counterpropagating waves and weaken the coupling of counterpropagating waves; in addition, it reduces the spectral width of the longitudinal modes. In this work, studies and analysis of the influence of mode locking on the characteristics of a laser gyroscope, in particular, the accuracy parameters, are carried out.
