A Low-Cost Rehabilitation System for Upper Limb Amputees

Recently, Rehabilitation systems and artificial limbs have been studied widely in Libya. In this paper, we introduced a low-cost rehabilitation system for upper limbs amputees. SEMG sensor has been designed and made and compared with a commercial sensor by taking data sets from a number of volunteers. The low-cost developed sensor gave a reasonable result that can be used in a virtual reality system, which stimulates the hand movement using a robotic simulator toolkit in LabVIEW Environments. A volunteer amputee tested the system with satisfying results.
