Multi Functional Synchronized Exciter and Down Converter for Surveillance Radar

Design & Development of a Multi-functional RF subsystem consisting of multisource generator, up and down converter for Surveillance Radar operating in S Band is presented in this paper. This system generates synchronized clock, local oscillator signals along with transmitter and down converter function. Down converter is having channels for air target detection and weather prediction. System also generates test pulse for checking the entire Radar operation. Built in test operations, timing and controls for the system are communicated by Radar controller through the digital card present in this subsystem. System is designed and developed by meeting all the key requirements which is being used for Air traffic control radar systems.
