Interference path prediction

The European COST (Co-operation in Science and Technology) Project 210 has produced a new procedure for the prediction of interference levels likely to occur during clear-air conditions and a major extension of the CCIR method for the prediction of levels due to scatter from various hydrometeor forms. In addition, the new CCIR Working Party (WP) 5C is examining this and parallel data, and is considering procedures to be recommended for adoption by the Study Group. Within COST 210 and WP 5C, the priority frequency range of concern has been about 1 to 30 GHz, as this range has a large number of frequency-sharing and co-ordination issues. The following topics are discussed: objectives; recent activity; clean-air studies and prediction procedure; hydrometeor-scatter studies and prediction procedure; co-ordination procedures; interference reduction techniques; and the way forward.<
