Biker Safety System using Nano BLE 33 Microcontroller and Mobile App

Two-wheelers are one of the most cost-effective and popular modes of transportation in the world. In India, 21.2 million two-wheeler units were sold in 2019, with the number expected to rise to 26.6 million units by 2025. Furthermore, global players in this sector, like as Bajaj and Hero MotoCorp, rely heavily on the Indian market for income. Unfortunately, the incidence of motorcycle-related traffic accidents is also on the rise. According to a 2017 figure, over 48,746 two-wheeler riders perished in traffic accidents, with 73.8 percent of them not wearing helmets. As a result of the irresponsible practise of not wearing a helmet, there are now four casualties every hour. The following project aims to design a safe and secure system for bikers that will ensure that the rider has worn the helmet in order to start a bike and also keep track of location in case of any calamity. Nano BLE 33 microcontroller has been used as it is a low-energy consumption microcontroller which is facilitated with multiple sensors like accelerometer, inbuilt Bluetooth communication and fast processing microprocessor. The above features make Nano BLE 33 light, compact, low power consuming and high processing making it ideal for such application. Mobile App is built with features like accident alerting, tracking and messaging in real-time. The above features aims at ensuring safety of the rider and in case of mishap, help reaches immediately.
