The Underestimated Influence of Air Quality - Implementing a Homogenous Network Structure for an IoT-Based Data Acquisition and Analysis System

Air quality can be an underestimated influence to the health and performance of human beings and animals as well. Particulate matter for instance is a common pollutant in urban areas and is linked to premature deaths every year. Furthermore carbon dioxide influences the performance in indoor environments severely and is additionally linked to airborne transmission of diseases. Therefore, the monitoring and analyzing of air quality is a substantial task. This paper evaluates the behavior of carbon dioxide by conducting multiple measurements. Based on the results a homogeneous network structure for a wireless sensor network is evaluated, which is moreover able to analyze the conducted sensor data.
