Blockchain-Based Distributed Addressing for Initial Authentication in Future Network

In mobile network, the subscriber information in the home network is needed for initial identity authentication between the subscriber and the serving network, and the routing and addressing to the home network depends on the configuration based on the subscriber number segment. When it comes to the 6G era, this inflexible mode will not be applicable to complex networking and access scenarios. The blockchain technology is an entirely fresh information storage and management mechanism that realizes the reliable transfer of data and value in a “decentralized” way. In this paper, we propose an efficient initial authentication approach for future network using blockchain technology to record the address of network functions that stores subscription data and authenticates subscriber, accordingly the routing and addressing can be accomplished through the blockchain. The related technology and the detailed process of this method is introduced and the advantages as well as the application scenarios are analyzed.
