Performance evaluation of 2×2 and massive 8×8 MIMO at 28 GHz and 60 GHz for Dhaka City

Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) is the key technology which enables spatial multiplexing offering higher spectral efficiency and capacity. The assessment of a MIMO channel requires information of the channel matrix parameters such as condition number and rank. Condition number and rank provides information of the quality and capability of spatial multiplexing of a MIMO channel and has been considered as an important and precise mathematical indicator for the evaluation of MIMO channel technology. Besides, 28 GHz and 60 GHz frequency band has also been considered as a potential candidate for mmWave communication. In this paper a 2×2 and massive 8×8 MIMO has been compared in terms of their condition number and rank at both 28GHz and 60GHz considering the environment of Dhaka city. Simulation has been carried out by NYUSIM simulator version 2 and the results have been compared to find out the suitable MIMO configuration and frequency.
