User Identification with Face Recognition : A Systematic Analysis

Towards achieving Security as a service in a cloud environment, user identity and access management is a crucial factor for ensuring secured access of resources. Authentication technique with multiple factors are considered to be more robust and provide greater difficulty for the attacker to get an unauthorized access to a secured cloud environment. Face recognition in conjunction with classical means of user authentication, as additional factor is found to be convenient using inbuilt cameras fitted in computers and mobile phones. We present a comprehensive analysis of several face detection and recognition mechanisms that might be used for user’s facial identification. Presented work gives a deep insight into the various available means of deep face inspection by means of Convolutional Neural Networking methods in order to access its suitability for being used as an effective additional factor for the multi-factor authentication.
