Extraction of Wave Energy Combining Floaters with Induction Generator : Design and Performance Analysis

Due to the complex system of extraction of oceanic wave energy it has not been commercialized. This project has developed techniques to extract wave energy in a different way. This project uses a different type of topology which is used for the elimination of the limitation of traditional linear generators and boost up the continuous power supply along with simple design of uniquely shaped floaters mounted onshore. The project focused on analyzing a system of modern technology that minimizes the cost of operation and construction of a grid connected OWE (oceanic wave energy) power plant, increasing efficiency, and maximizing revenue. Floaters can be attached to shore or anything which is made artificially, therefore its installation on the shore is also simple, as well as maintenance and accessibility. It can produce and transfer electricity with a considerable voltage and current value even when the height of oceanic waves will be low or an average of 0.5 m high. The analysis on hydraulic motors along with electrical generators is done here, a SCADA software is used to physically demonstrate the project and MATLAB is used for the analysis of output.
