CANoe Tool usage for Communication Between Automotive Grade Processors

If the number of electronic controls and systems in contemporary vehicle increases, then the efficiency of the car will mostly be affected by the sophistication of the circuit used in the control system. Maintenance is therefore challenging to execute. The architecture is focused on a single points networking method utilized for conventional electrical networks, which eventually contribute to major problems with cables. The Controller Area Network (CAN) bus framework is used in high quality automobiles to connect all the critical controllers into a device in order to achieve centralized management. CAN is used because of its ability to provide high speed communication between the Electronic Control Units (ECUs). This makes it possible for various control systems to exchange data and interoperate in a reliable way. The aim of our paper is to simulate the communication between ECUs using CANoe (CAN Open Environment) Tool provided by Vector Private Limited. Here we test the communication of the ECUs related to engine start and stop, braking ECU, and Dashboard ECU. We check the status of each ECUs whenever a specific task is being carried out. For the purpose of communication, we require CAPL scripting to be embedded into the ECU. Trace Log is used to check the status of ECUs whenever a task is initiated, we need and also to check the communication between the ECUs. Another major advantage of using CANoe Tool for such purposes is that it saves a lot of time as compared to testing the ECUs in traditional manual approach. So, we have used Vector Tool (VT), CANoe which will be helpful in the need of automated testing of an ECU.
