PBPK Model Simulation study on Impact of Captrophil for Renal Impairment patients(RI)

Pharmacokinetic models are computational tools that help in simulating the concentration level of drugs in the blood before real administration. The application of Pharmacokinetic models is abundant in the Pharmaceutical Industries. Physiologically based pharmacokinetic modeling describes the movement of the drug in the body depending on organ blood flow and organ volume. The purpose of this research is to investigate the impact of the drug absorption rate of the drug captopril which is used in the therapy of hypertension and heart failure in Renal Impairment patients (RI) by PBPK modeling (physiologically based pharmacokinetics). This will aid in the evaluation of the clearance of the drug in those with mild, moderate, and severe renal impairment, and to guide dosage recommendations in these people. A simulated AUC ratio from the PBPK model is calculated. The PBPK model was evaluated based on the known anatomy and physiology of the human and other animal species. This method is suitable for dose recommendations in a specific population.
