Review on Machine Learning Driven Biomedical Metallic Composites

Machine learning (ML), a form of artificial intelligence, allows software systems to become better at predicting events without having to be explicitly programmed (AI). Biomaterials are substances that are used in biomedical applications and are designated by the term “biomaterial.” It is vital for both material scientists and biomedical engineers to do biomaterials research because it has the potential to improve human health and longevity. There are four categories of biomaterials: polymers, composites, metals/ceramics, and metal/ceramics. Polymers are the most common type of biomaterial. Metals and their alloys are used as biomaterials because of the mechanical properties, biocompatibility, and ease of manufacture that metals and their alloys possess. When choosing metals for biomedical applications, corrosion resistance is an important factor to consider. Metallic biomaterials that are commonly used include stainless steel 316L, titanium and titanium alloys, and cobalt-chromium alloys. These compounds are used in a variety of biological applications, including implants, crowns, bridges, dentures, and other prosthetics. This study provides an overview of metallic biomaterials and potential to machine learning that are frequently utilised in medical procedures and procedures using metal.
